Economy in Turkey: Home sales decreases by 21.5 percent in March

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) has announced the housing sales statistics for March. Home sales in Turkey fell by 21.5 percent in March compared to the same period last year. The decrease was 11.5 percent in three months.
Home sales decreased by 21.4 percent in March compared to the same month of the previous year and became 105 thousand 476.
In home sales, Istanbul had the highest share with 18 thousand 166 units and 17.2 percent. According to the sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 12 thousand 23 residential sales and 11.4 percent share, Antalya with 6 thousand 120 residential sales and 5.8 percent share.
The provinces with the lowest number of home sales were Ardahan with 23 housing units, Hakkari with 54 housing units and Bayburt with 69 housing units, respectively.
DECREASED BY 11.5 PERCENT IN THREE MONTHS
Home sales decreased by 11.5 percent in January March period, compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 283 thousand 215.
