Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan accompanied by a delegation of Turkish businessmen has gone to South Africa.

Çağlayan first inaugurated the recently completed Nizamiye kulliya and later attended the Turkey-South Africa Business Forum, which brought together a large number of businessmen from bouth countries.

Çağlayan said the 2,5 billion dollar trade volume should be increased.

Turkish and South African businessmen later held bilateral talks on the sidelines of the forum taking up the opportunities of joint ventures and other possibilities of cooperation.

Many Turkish businessmen are known to have established businesses in South Africa lately.

On the other hand, Turkey has taken considerably important steps in the past decade and increased its exports substantially, thanks to the efforts of the current government in office.

In fact the government has recently manged to bring down the current account deficit following some strict measures.

Another point worth mentioning is Turkey has arranged to diversify its export markets as Europe has not been able to recover from global crisis yet.
