Epidemic in Turkey: Number of cases exceeds 68 thousand on 06 January 2022

In the last 24 hours, 68,413 cases and 156 deaths were recorded in Turkey. In one day, 418 thousand 823 Covid-19 tests were conducted, 25 thousand 502 people recovered.

The number of cases is rising rapidly with the Omicron variant. On December 19, 2021, daily Covid-19 cases, which decreased to 16,910, exceeded 20 thousand in a week, and at the end of the month they saw more than 40 thousand; yesterday, they were close to 67 thousand.

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca said on his Twitter account:”We should not stay long in closed, restricted ventilation environments and restaurants/cafes where masks are not used. Meetings with high attendance, domestic crowds and long-term meetings, entertainment venues increase transmission. The importance of the measures has increased enormously.”
