ERDOGAN STATEMENT

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with young people in Samsun. In his conversation with youngsters the President made interesting comments about Turkey’s new missiles and Greece as well as relations with USA.

Erdoğan once again criticized the United States for supporting a terrorist organization (in Syria) and also referred to the tension with Greece. He said the Typhoon ballistic missiles (domestic production) scared Greece, adding “Turkey has moves to make as well, when need be.”

The President, who also touched on Turkey’s first ‘short-range ballistic missile’ Tayfun, said, “Now we have started to build our missiles. This production, of course, scares the Greek. You say ‘typhoon’, Greeks are startled, ‘It will hit Athens’, they say. Well, it will, of course. If you don’t stand comfortably (peacefully), if you try to buy somethings from America for the islands (meaning, if you arm the Greek islands), a country like Turkey probably won’t just sit and wait, it will need to do something. These young people (Turks) don’t grow up for nothing, do they? We will succeed in this matter, with oil, weapons and ammunition, with everything.””

“WE’LL TAKE THE MATTER INTO OWN HANDS

President Erdogan said, “the USA are sending 4-5 thousand trucks load of American weapons and ammunition to the north of Syria. Even though I’ve told them this many times, they don’t care at all. I said, sorry, we are with you in NATO, although we are together, you are doing us this wrong and you are on the side of a terrorist organization. Then we’ll take the matter into own hands, there is no other way.”
