Experts forecast 1 million people on coastal areas during Eid holiday

Domestic tourists (Turks) prefer coastal areas on top of family visits during the 9-Day holiday period, while about 1 million people are expected to flow to coastal areas.

The holiday period, which was increased to 9 days by combining the upcoming Eid al-Adha with weekdays, has started an influx of beaches and cultural tours. With the effect of accelerated vaccine studies, all coastal and coastal regions from Erdek to Mersin will be full with domestic tourists during the 9-day Eid holiday and tourism sector representatives expect about 1 million people to go on Eid holidays to coastal areas.

INCREASED NUMBER OF OVERNIGHT STAYS

Before the coronavirus pandemic, the number of domestic tourists traveling with package tours (and hotels), numbered around 8 million. The target is to exceed this figure this year, while a large migration has begun to tourism areas on all coastal areas that is to include many boutique hotels, camps and caravans etc.

Assessing the expected mobility for the holiday period, a reputable expert in the sector has noted that demand abroad in previous years is heading towards domestic tours due to restrictions, in which case numbers will exceed 2019.  The number of people will increase by 10-15 percent, perhaps, but the long overnight stays have started.
