INDUSTRY ZONES IN BURSA(1)

Factories in four OSB regions (Organized Industrial Zones) in Bursa, the heart of the automotive sector, will turn off the switch for three days starting from midnight tonight due to energy restrictions. The fact that TEIAS will go to the electricity restriction due to the natural gas restriction has made Bursa industrialists nervous. It was learned that there will be power outages at BOSB, NOSAB, DOSAB, Inegöl OSB, Barakfaki-Kestel- Gürsu OSB in the city of Bursa 24 hours a day three full days a week.

Speaking to the press, President of an Organized Industrial Zone Industrialist Business People’s Association (DOSABSIAD) said, “There will be a 40 percent reduction in natural gas and electricity. This means that it will also affect production in the same proportion. Compensation could be possible if the restriction is limited to a period of 10 days. However, if it is prolonged, this will trigger inflation and cause new hikes.”

“40 PERCENT OF OUR PRODUCTION WILL BE GONE”

Due to the restriction that will be experienced three days a week, 40 percent of production will not be realized. Especially dyeing and heavy industrial machinery. You turn it on, but it doesn’t work immediately. There are machines that take 12 hours to work at one hundred percent full capacity.  And it takes about that long to close it. This is the same with majority of the industry.”
