Good news for elderly: Turkey’s President Erdogan announces ban for over-65s lifted

A face-to-face Cabinet meeting was held for the first time after a long recess under the presidency of President Erdogan. The meeting, which lasted about 3 hours, ended.

Erdogan has announced that cinemas and theatres will open after July 1. Erdogan also stated that citizens aged 65 and over can leave between 10:00 and 20:00, while measures imposed on those aged 18 and below have been lifted.

Details announced by the President are as follows:

*The opening date of cinemas and theaters has been announced – July 1st
*Restaurants & cafes will close at midnight.
*Freedom for over 65!  (citizens aged 65 and over can go out between 10.00 and 20.00 every day of the week)
*The restriction under the age of 18 has been completely abolished, provided that the minors are accompanied by their parents.
*Wedding halls will be able to start service as of July 1 in accordance with the determined rules
