The health ministry announced that it was stepping up measures in accommodation facilities, restaurants, dormitories and nursing homes against the new type of Coronavirus outbreak. The ministry made recommendations for infection prevention and control in public places such as accommodation facilities, restaurants, dormitories and nursing homes due to the Coronavirus outbreak affecting the whole world.

According to the recommendations of the “Coronavirus Science Board of the Ministry of Health”, it is necessary to pay attention to prevention measures to reduce the risk of infection transmission.

Within the scope of these measures,

-The records of the guests staying at the hotels will be kept on a full and regular basis such as name, address, contact, passport information, the countries in which they have been in the last 14 days and their travel plans within the country after their stay. These will be of great importance for the proper management of contacts in case of possible cases.

-According to the basic infection prevention and control principles proposed to be applied in the accommodation facilities, the windows in the rooms and other closed areas will be open during daily routine cleaning and will be ventilated for at least 1 hour after cleaning.

-The persons who will clean the room will wear gloves after washing their hands and do the cleaning with gloved hands. They will be wearing new gloves before cleaning the next room. It will be sufficient to do the general cleaning with water and detergent.

-Especially hands-on surfaces, door handles, batteries, handrails, frequently touched buttons, telephone handset, television and air conditioning control, toilet and sink cleaning in common areas will be well taken care of. For the cleaning of these areas, after cleaning with water and detergent, diluted bleach and chlorine tablets will be used.

-Common items such as cups and plates will be washed with water and detergent after each use and stored in a clean environment until use.

-There will be no whisking and shaking during the folding of the bed linen, linen and towel products used by the guest, and no dust and particulate formation will be allowed.

-The chlorine levels of the pools will be considered to be at the level determined in the legislation. Sauna, massage parlors, gyms and children’s clubs will not be used as much as possible. In case of use, a limited number of records will be kept with the reservation. Mechanical cleaning and ventilation of these areas will be done at regular intervals. There will be no hard-to-clean toys in play parks and children’s clubs.

-If there are people who have complaints compatible with Kovid-19 disease, they should be separated from the other guests immediately wear masks and apply to the health unit.

-In case coronavirus diagnosis is confirmed the patient’s room will be aired for 24 hours and kept empty. Training on hygiene rules will be provided to hotel employees.

-Restaurant workers will serve instead of open-buffet service.

-To reduce the risk of general infection transmission in restaurants, the distance between tables will not be less than 1 meter.

-The windows in the rooms and other closed areas will be open during daily routine cleaning and will be ventilated for at least 1 hour after cleaning.

-Common items such as cups and plates will be washed with water and detergent after each use and stored in a clean environment until use.

-The restaurant staff will take care of hand cleaning. Hands will be washed with water and soap for at least 20 seconds, alcohol-based hand antiseptics will be used in cases where there is no soap and water.

-Since the open buffet application in restaurants is a risky application in terms of hand contact, the service will be provided by the employees, if necessary.

-Staff with signs of any respiratory infection will not be allowed to work until complaints are finalized.

-Restaurant employees will also be provided with training in implementing hygiene rules.
