New corona measure by government: 65 years and older people not to leave home

The Ministry of the interior, 65 years of age and older, as well as chronic ailments of citizens out of their residence, park, garden, such as open spaces are restricted to walk, announced.

The Internal Affairs statement is as follows:

65 years of age and older citizens  as well as the  ones with chronic illness are restricted to leave residence and walk in open areas such as park, garden as of 24:00 on Saturday 21st March 2020.

Detailed information will be disclosed to our citizens at 19: 30.

“BASIC” DETAILS 

* Those citizens at 65 years of age and over those with low immune system, and chronic lung disease, asthma, COPD, heart/blood vessel disease, kidney problems, hypertension, and those with liver disease and others that use drugs that impair the immune system will not be allowed to leave their residences after 24:00 hours today or walk around at open places, parks and use public transportation.

* In case of need, Social Support Group will be formed under the chairmanship of the governor/prefect to meet their basic needs of especially those 65 years/over and who live alone and do not have relatives to meet their needs

* The aforementioned group will be composed of the Provincial/District Police Chief, provincial/district gendarmerie commander, representatives of public institutions and organizations to be determined by the governor / district governors, local governments, AFAD, Red Crescent and representatives of non-governmental organizations to be needed.

* Necessary measures will be taken by governors in provinces and prefects in districts in order to meet all the basic needs of our citizens aged 65 and over and those with chronic illness, health needs to be in the first place.

* Our citizens who are prohibited from leaving their residence will be able to report their needs on the numbers 112, 155, 156.

* Sufficient public officials/teams and vehicles will be assigned to answer these calls and produce the necessary services, especially law enforcement units.
