Heavy rainfall coming! Meteorology expert issues warning with specific dates

As we near the end of the summer season marked by record temperatures, we are about to transition into the autumn season with rainy weather. Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen shared a post on his social media account, warning about the areas that will be affected by heavy rainfall.

After El Niño and the Indian summer period, Turkey has been under the influence of scorching hot weather for days. The beginning of the autumn season will be marked by heavy rainfall. Meteorology Consultant Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen shared a post on social media, warning about the regions that will experience heavy rainfall and providing specific dates.

In his social media post, Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated the following:

Today, the Marmara and Northern Aegean regions are experiencing strong winds from the north. Localized showers with thunderstorms are expected in the Inner Aegean, southern Aegean, and the inland areas of Western Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean. Temperatures remain unchanged. Tomorrow, there will be rainfall in the Mediterranean region, and on Tuesday, there will be rain in Eastern Anatolia.

RAINFALL EXPECTED IN MARMARA REGION BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2-4

Today, Sunday, the weather in Istanbul is 31°C, Izmir will experience rain around noon with a temperature of 34°C, Antalya will also have rain around noon with a temperature of 31°C, and Ankara’s temperature is 33°C. Midweek next week, temperatures will rise by 1-2 degrees.

Weather in some regions is expected to be as follows:

MARMARA: Partly cloudy with few clouds, some parts of the southwest will be mostly cloudy, and there will be localized showers and thunderstorms in the southern part of Balıkesir. The wind is expected to blow strongly from the north and northeast (30 – 60 km/h).

AEGEAN: Partly cloudy with few clouds, the southern and inland parts of the Aegean will be mostly cloudy with localized showers and thunderstorms. The wind is expected to be strong from the north along the Aegean coasts (30 – 60 km/h).

MEDITERRANEAN: Partly cloudy with few clouds, tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon, the inland areas of Western Mediterranean and some parts of Eastern Mediterranean will experience mostly cloudy skies with localized showers and sporadic thunderstorms.
