How much are the Dardanelles ferry tolls?

As of April 20, 2022, all Çanakkale ferry services have been increased. GESTAŞ, which provides sea transportation at Dardanelles Strait, raised ferry fares dec 42 percent to 117 percent before the holiday. The company raised ferry fare tariffs a month after the opening of the Dardanelles Bridge in 1915.

According to information on the web page of the company, price of TL 6.50 per passenger fee went up to  TL 10 while motorcycle price went from TL 25 fee 40 TL and toll for cars went up to TL 135 from TL 95 car toll 135. Toll for trucks was increased to TL 295 from 136. TIR prices were also increased to TL 400 from 265.

This hike a short while after opening of the bridge only, made citizens ask the question “Is the administration trying to oblige us to use the bridge – which is already very expensive indeed”. The interesting point here is the government is committed to paying the operating company (contractor) a certain guaranteed fee daily (for guaranteed number of vehicles to use the bridge) – that is the government pays the difference in between if the number of vehicles using the bridge is less than the guaranteed number.
