HOLIDAY TRAFFIC IN TURKEY

Due to the extended Eid al-Fitr holiday, which has been extended to 9 days, there is heavy traffic on the roads. Citizens who want to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday outside the city have started to hit the road. There is congestion, especially on the TEM highway and in some other regions. Citizens flocking to their hometowns or holiday resorts for the Eid al-Fitr holiday have caused traffic congestion.

In response to the congestion caused by holidaymakers departing from various cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, and Ankara, security and gendarmerie teams are working overtime.

MUĞLA

While traffic congestion is observed in Muğla for the Eid al-Fitr holiday, traffic teams have intensified their inspections at the city entrances. Drivers setting off for the Eid al-Fitr holiday have caused traffic congestion on the Aydın-Muğla highways.

It is expected that the occupancy rate in tourist facilities throughout Muğla will reach 70%. At the inspection point on the Aydın-Muğla highway, police officers distributed brochures to drivers and passengers, and General Information Checks (GBT) were conducted.

ANTALYA

Arrivals to the tourism city of Antalya via road have also begun.

Vehicles coming from different cities, primarily Istanbul, have caused traffic congestion for kilometers at the city’s entry points.
Gendarmerie and police teams are on duty along the 643-kilometer coastline from Gazipaşa to Kaş. Inspections are being conducted at 10 checkpoints in the city.
At the Kovanlık Road Control Point in the northern entry points of the city, located in the Döşemealtı district, gendarmerie and police teams carried out traffic inspections.
