The spokesman of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Keyvan Khosrowi, said the attacks on Iranian-linked bases in Syria would be responded to immediately. Activity in the region continues after an Iranian suicide drone (UAV) carried out an attack on a facility belonging to the coalition fighting the terrorist organization DAESH in Hasakah in northeastern Syria last Thursday, killing 1 US personnel, injuring 1 personnel and 5 US soldiers.

Iranian Supreme National Security Council Spokesman Keyvan Khosrowi said in a statement about the attacks that the presence of US forces in Syria was illegal, adding: “Iran has tried hard to deal with terrorism and create stable security in Syria, and will oppose any actions that endanger the stability of this country. Any pretext to attack bases established at the request of the government of this country for the purpose of fighting DAESH and terrorism in Syria will be responded to immediately.”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced today that 19 people were killed in retaliatory attacks by the United States against groups affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Syria. It was reported that 3 of the dead in the airstrikes were Syrian soldiers, 11 were pro-regime Syrians, and 5 were pro-regime foreigners.
