Number of people arrested in connection with earthquakes in Turkey increases to 317

The number of those arrested in investigations related to buildings that collapsed or were found to have made changes contrary to reconstruction in the provinces affected by the earthquakes centered on Kahramanmaraş has increased to 317.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted regarding the buildings destroyed in the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes based in Kahramanmaraş or alleged to have been altered contrary to zoning; 1431 suspects were identified.

317 of the suspects were arrested, a judicial control decision was made against 509 of them, and an arrest warrant was issued for 314 people. The proceedings of 2 people in custody are continuing. there are detention orders for 92 people.

It was determined that 4 of those identified as suspects were abroad, and 65 people lost their lives. All 128 suspects were released after taking statements. In addition, 108 of the 317 people detained were contractors, 173 were construction managers, 18 were building owners, and 18 were people who made changes to the building.
