Is impeachment at the Department of Health related to corona virus diagnostic kits?

Prof. Dr. Selçuk KILIC, the head of the Department of Microbiology Reference Laboratories and Biological Products of the Ministry of Health (General Directorate of Public Health), which has the authority to approve corona virus diagnostic kits, was dismissed by surprise.

It is claimed that corona virus diagnostic kit, produced by Bioeksen company that produces diagnostic kits and was the only kit used in pandemic hospitals, has a very low rate of catching positive cases such as 40 percent, based on results obtained in laboratory inspection abroad.

The Health Ministry did not comment on the allegations. Canan Ketre, chairperson of Bioeksen’s board, denied the allegations. Deputy Minister of Health said, “There is no problem with our domestic diagnostic kit.”
