Kuşadası Municipality contributes to welfare of residents in town in Covid-19 crisis

There is no doubt that these days we are in the midst of a major trouble seen on earth very rarely. It’s such a problem that we all have to fight and invisible enemy which makes it hard to cope with it. So it looks like we will continue to live under quite some pressure and even in fear until the necessary medicines and vaccines to cure the illness are found.

In the meantime obviously a lot of people had their jobs broken and most of us had their holiday plans ruined and so on. But more importantly, tens of thousands of people died from this disease. Let’s continue to abide by very important measures such as staying at home and pray for the drug to be found soonest.

At this point we should not fail to remember that municipalities in the country have been making an incredible effort to make the life of their citizens a little easier. One of them is certainly Kuşadası Municipality which deserves all kinds of praise.

Right from the beginning of the crisis, the municipal staff have worked real hard, literally risking their lives by extending services such as shopping for residents over 65 and not allowed to leave the house and bringing the stuff to their doorsteps. Also the municipality has distributed some necessary supplies, such as gloves and masks free of charge, delivering them to homes again.

Moreover the municipality teams have disinfected the town to their best and tried to maintain it hygienic. Teams did not forget stray animals out in the streets and fed them as due.

For all this work mentioned above, Kuşadası staff deserve great praise and applause. It would be nice to applaud Derya Hanım at the Health Directorate of the Municipality, for the kindness and support she displayed in the distribution process of gloves, masks and disinfectants to foreign residents in the town.

It is our hope that the staff will continue to do their duty without contracting this disease. We are confident that everyone residing in the district and of course our foreign friends as well will applaud the staff wholeheartedly and wish them all the best.

Last but not least, it would be  unfair not to mention the support a specific Facebook group (among others) with title KUŞADASI EVERYTHING has contributed to the safety and comfort of its members by providing almots real-time info about what has been happening in the country and answering as many questions as possible coming from members.
