During the discussion of the regulation, a member of parliament from the Good Party representing Çanakkale, stated that the last-minute addition of 2 more articles to the omnibus bill that came to the Parliament with 31 articles was a sign of carelessness.

He pointed out that in the provision related to the rental of daily homes for touristic purposes in the omnibus bill, it is required to obtain the consent of all apartment residents, but residences and villas are exempt from this requirement.

Uz said, “Therefore, in this bill proposal, it is essential that the same thing is done for those who stay in these villas, just as the consent of apartment owners is taken. Because this bill proposal not only undermines small businesses but also shatters the hope of minimum wage earners or retirees who rent an apartment for a holiday once every three to five years.

This bill proposal is actually perceived as a law for contractors, as it excludes residences from it. Why? Because contractors cannot sell houses, so they cannot use credit, and banks do not provide loans. So, we say to the contractors, ‘Let’s exclude you from this bill proposal, and you can rent out these places and continue with the income from here.'”
