CREDIT CARD CONTACTLESS LIMIT UPDATED IN TURKEY

The BRSA (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency) has decided to re-update the contactless transaction limit for card payments to 500 Turkish liras effective from February 1 as part of epidemic measures.

In the article sent by the BRSA to the Turkish Banks Association (TBB), the Union of Participation Banks of Turkey (TKBB) and the Interbank Card Center (BKM), it was recalled that some measures had been taken in the banking sector to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic in Turkey.

EFFECTIVE FROM 1st FEBRUARY 2022

In the writing sent to said parties it was mentioned that the “contactless transaction limit” was raised to 350 TL from 250 TL on 7 May 2021 and during this time with non-stop epidemic cases, concerned limit was increased to 500 Turkish lira effective from 1 February.
