“Price increases continue in Turkey: Beer sees a 35% price hike”

Erol Dündar, the President of the Association of Monopoly Retailers Assistance (TBYD), announced that there had been a 35% price increase on beers belonging to the Efes group.

The Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) hike for alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, and fuel was determined with the announcement of the six-month inflation data by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). In addition, price increases are ongoing in many categories.

The latest news of a price hike pertains to one of the most consumed alcoholic beverages, beer.

According to the list shared by Dündar on Twitter, the new price for 50cl beers, previously sold at 45 Turkish liras, is now 60 Turkish liras.

As per the list, Efes Pilsen in both cans and bottles is priced at 60 lira, while Efes Malt in both cans and bottles is now 56 lira. The box of Efes Special Edition is 63 lira, and the bottle is 65 lira. Bomonti Unfiltered is 65 lira, Varım (I Exist) in a box is 48 lira, Miller in both can and bottle is 70 lira, Bud in both can and bottle is 70 lira, and Becks’ box is 63 lira, and the bottle is 65 lira. Amsterdam’s can and bottle are priced at 95 lira.
