Law proposal arranging usage of electric bicycles and scooters submitted to parliament

The law proposal, including the determination of the age to be allowed to use electric bicycles and electric scooters as 15, was submitted to the Presidency of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Mehmet Muş, AKP Group Deputy Chairman, made statements on the agenda. “Today we submitted our proposal to the Presidency of the Assembly proposing the establishment of an environmental agency with 39 articles.” He said, “We are planning to recycle some products with the offer. Those who do not establish a zero waste system will be fined. We are fining those who pollute the environment in public places.”

The deputy also said, “The definition of bicycle road is added to the legislation. The General Directorate of Highways is authorized for areas where electric bicycles can enter. The age of using electric bicycles on lanes on highways will be 15. We are also obliging drivers to give them priority. Those who use them will be prohibited from carrying cargo except backpacks.”
