Molnupiravir, which will be used as the first oral drug against the corona virus, was found to have an effect against all variants, while halving hospitalization and reducing the risk of death.

In Merck’s study, it was announced that patients who took the drug “Molnupiravir” within 5 days after their symptoms appeared had their hospitalization and mortality rate halved compared to those who took a “placebo”.

“An oral antiviral tablet that can affect the risk of hospitalization to this extent changes the rules of the whole game,” said Amesh Adalja, a senior researcher at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Safety.
