Mesopotamia Fair will be a brand new beginning for the region

Speaking at the opening of the Mesopotamia Tourism and Gastronomy Fair held for the first time this year, Firuz Bağlıkaya, President of TÜRSAB, said, “Mesopotamia is a destination that responds to all kinds of requests from tourists with its cuisine crafts in addition to its history and culture. This fair will be a whole new beginning and ground for the region. Turkey cannot benefit from tourism equally. It is necessary to make special efforts for these regions.”

“We cannot exclude Mesopotamia from tourism”

Firuz Bağlıkaya, who argued that it is not correct to identify tourism only with the coastal tourism areas and measure it with foreign currency, said, “we cannot exclude (leave it out/neglect it) Mesopotamia from tourism.”

He also shared the following statement: “Our shortcoming is the inability to spread tourism throughout the year and regions. We need to ensure that more resources are transferred to these regions by positively discriminating when using the country’s marketing resources. The fair will be a valuable platform for displaying the values of the region.”
