Meteorological warning: “Heavy rain to cover entire country”

According to Meteorology’s forecasts, heavy rain, which is expected to start today in the central regions of Turkey, will begin to spread across the entire country over the weekend. The rain is expected to intensify at the beginning of next week.

The General Directorate of Meteorology has released its latest weather predictions. According to the forecasts, heavy rain is expected today in the central regions of the country, while strong winds will be effective along our western coasts.

On Saturday, the rain is expected to expand its coverage area. A drop in temperatures is also expected with the rain. The rain is predicted to cover most of the country starting from the beginning of next week.

HEAVY RAIN TO STRENGTHEN IN PLACES

According to the forecasts, today the northern and central parts of the country will be partly cloudy, with local heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in the Inner Aegean, the interior parts of the Western and Central Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, western Central Anatolia, the interior parts of the Western Black Sea, the central and eastern Black Sea coasts, and around Aksaray, Niğde, and Karaman. Other areas are expected to be slightly cloudy and clear.

The rain is expected to be locally strong in the areas of Afyonkarahisar, the Lake District, around Çankırı, and in the northern parts of Ankara and the western parts of Konya during the afternoon.
