MHP leader Bahçeli calls on Öcalan: “Come Speak in Parliament, Say You Dissolved the Organization!”
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made significant statements during his party’s group meeting at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Bahçeli also issued a call to the leader of the terrorist organization, saying, “If the isolation is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the TBMM. Let him shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been dissolved.”
Statement on the Peace Process
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli emphasized that Turkey did not need a new peace process but rather needed common sense, honesty, and sincere steps. He stressed that “Turkey’s problem was not the Kurds but the separatist terrorist organization. He said “It is essential to address the individual problems of our Kurdish brothers. No Kurdish person should be considered a problem. Saying there is a ‘Kurdish problem’ is part of the propaganda of those waiting for conflict and destruction.”
Bahçeli noted that Turkey did not resort to assimilation policies and added, “If the resources allocated to fighting terrorism were directed toward the region, every patriotic citizen would agree on how unemployment and income inequality would be eradicated. Terrorism is one thing, politics is another. Without a clear separation between them, and without rejecting violence, even our Kurdish citizens will find it difficult to achieve prosperity and peace.”
“Terrorism Leads Nowhere”
Devlet Bahçeli stated that armed conflict alone could not end terrorism, but that resolving terrorism without addressing it militarily was also impossible. He pointed out that failing to take democratic steps was a mistake, saying, “Terrorism leads nowhere, and it never will. Turkey will never tolerate separatist terrorism, and attempts at forced negotiation will not succeed.”
He emphasized that fighting terrorism relentlessly while carrying out reforms was the most logical option, saying, “It is our duty under all circumstances to break the back of terrorism. The unconditional cessation of terrorist acts, the surrender of all terrorists with their weapons to the state, and serving their sentences is the last chance for the terrorist organization.”
A Significant Call to the Leader of the Terrorist Organization
Bahçeli also made an important call to the leader of the terrorist organization, who once said, “I am ready to serve in any way” when brought to Turkey. He noted, “Many people don’t understand or try to distort the essence of my call to the leader of the terrorist organization. To those who say nothing will happen unless he is involved, I respond: If his isolation is lifted, let him come to the TBMM and speak at the DEM Party group meeting. Let him shout that terrorism is over and the organization has been dissolved.”
