The pension increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has been equalized with the increase for civil service retirees. Thus, all retirees (4a, 4b, 4c) received their salaries with a 49.25% increase. Holiday bonuses were also raised to 3,000 liras with a 50% increase. However, the expectations have not been met due to high inflation. According to calculations, holiday bonuses should be 10,609 TL to maintain their 2018 levels.

Şeref Oğuz: HOLIDAY BONUS WILL BE INCREASED
Economists also believe that there will be a regulation for retirement pensions before the elections. Şeref Oğuz, the Chairman of the Economic Publishing Board, shared the speculation that there would be an additional increase in the bonus. Oğuz stated, “There is a study on increasing the bonus. My estimation is that there will be an additional increase of 2 thousand liras. In other words, the holiday bonus for retirees will be increased to 5 thousand liras.”
SGK Specialist Özgür Erdursun also stated, “There may be additional increases of 2, 3, 4 thousand liras for retirement pensions. I do not have a clear information, but I have heard that there is a study on this issue.” Erdursun had expressed that if there is a flat increase for retirees, the increase will be up to 5 thousand liras at most.
Referring to the local elections on March 31st, Özgür Erdursun commented, “If the lowest retirement pension is increased to 14 thousand, those receiving 14 thousand will get 18 thousand, those receiving 20 thousand will get 24 thousand, those receiving 30 thousand will get 34 thousand… If they go to the election with such an increase, they will receive high votes from retirees.” Erdursun had also mentioned that he thought the increases would be made in a way that would go directly into the pockets of retirees, not just into their base pensions.
