Minister Şimşek stated that the Central Bank reserves had significantly improved since May of last year, while addressing the importance of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) during the “Istanbul PPP Week” event in Istanbul, organized in collaboration with the Public-Private Sector Partnership Research Center and DEİK.

He emphasized that Turkey held a favorable position in the World Bank’s Logistics Index, ranking 38th globally, ahead of over 90 emerging and developing countries. He underscored the significance of Turkey’s progress in physical infrastructure.

Additionally, Şimşek highlighted digital transformation as another crucial area for Turkey, considering it as integral to infrastructure and a key criterion for preparedness for artificial intelligence.

Regarding sustainability, Şimşek emphasized the importance of investing in sustainable energy infrastructure, particularly in combating climate change. He noted Turkey’s progress in this field, with approximately 55% of its installed capacity coming from renewable energy sources, including hydro, solar, wind, and geothermal. He estimated that investments in this sector could reach approximately $100 billion over the next decade.
