MYANMAR TRAVEL CHAOS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel and security announcement regarding Myanmar. In a statement, the ministry said that due to the ongoing state of emergency, clashes and protests, citizens should avoid traveling to Myanmar except in mandatory cases.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel warning for Myanmar due to the recent increase in ransom cases.

The ministry said in a statement, “Recently, situations have often been encountered in which our citizens have been deceived by some people or groups in Myanmar’s border areas with the promise of providing jobs via the Internet, illegally smuggled into Myanmar and detained, and ransom demands have been made. It is important that our citizens do not accept such job advertisements, do detailed research about the companies before accepting possible job offers and contact our Embassies in Nepido and related neighboring countries if necessary.”
