Ministry of Health shares latest coronavirus data for January 8, 2022

The current data of the Turkish Daily Coronavirus Table on the Ministry of Health’s website were shared. In the last 24 hours, 418,264 Covid-19 tests were performed in Turkey, 66,237 people tested positive, 141 people lost their lives.

WARNING FROM MINISTER KOCA

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said, “The new variant has high transmission ability. The proportion of cases that need to be treated by hospitalization seems to be low at the moment. That is, the developments were not reflected in our hospitals at the same rate.”

He also said, “THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE OMICRON VARIANT DOES NOT MAKE YOU SICK. Protect yourselves.”
