MONKEY POX DISEASE

As the world continues its fight against the corona virus, which has killed more than 6 million people, it has faced monkey pox disease, which has been detected in dozens of countries, especially European countries and the United States and Canada. Yesterday, three more countries announced that they had detected cases, while some countries announced their quarantine decisions.

Monkey pox disease, which is usually seen in central and West Africa and shows symptoms such as blisters, redness, itching on the skin, as well as symptoms such as high fever, swelling of the lymph nodes, chills and can cause death, is spreading rapidly…

In addition to European countries, the number of cases is increasing rapidly in countries such as the United States and Canada, while the number of countries with monkey pox disease is also increasing.

FIRST CASES SEEN IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES

Yesterday, the first cases of monkey pox were seen in Israel and Switzerland, while the first cases were officially announced in Argentina and Austria.

This disease, in which there is no effective method of protection, except for the smallpox vaccine, which provides a certain degree of protection, can be transmitted for reasons such as respiratory tract, physical contact, sexual intercourse.

In line with the decisions taken yesterday, Belgium wants people with monkey pox to put themselves in isolation for 3 weeks, while the UK announced a 3-week quarantine decision.

The British Health Safety Agency announced in a statement that “Those infected with monkey pox should not go to work for 21 days and contact pregnant women and children under the age of 12, as well as those with weakened immune systems.”

DISEASE MAY HAVE IMPACT ON SEXUAL HEALTH CARE

On the other hand, the President of the British Sexual Health Association, Dr. Claire Dewsnap also made a statement. Dr. Dewsnap said, “This disease is going to have a huge impact on sexual health care. We may see more cases in the next few weeks. What worries me here is that there have been cases across Europe, so this disease has already started to spread.”
