Russia illegally annexed the Crimean Autonomous Republic and the city of Sevastopol on March 18, 2014.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, appointed as the Governor of Sevastopol by the Kremlin, announced that Ukraine had carried out a missile attack on Russia’s Black Sea Fleet main headquarters.

In a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was initially reported that one Russian soldier had died in the attack, with the ‘Kiev regime’ being held responsible.

However, the Ministry later issued a correction stating that the soldier had not died but was missing.

Footage shared on social media shows smoke rising from the military building in Sevastopol, which was annexed by Moscow.
