It has been reported that disposable products such as plastic cutlery, knives and plates will be banned in the UK in order to reduce environmental pollution.

According to local media reports in the country; The Ministry of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has approved a ban on disposable products such as plastic forks, knives and plates in the UK. However, the application in question will not cover products available in supermarkets or stores.

British Environment Minister Therese Coffey is expected to make a statement on when the ban will come into force in the coming days.

Minister Coffey confirmed to The Mail on Sunday newspaper that they were preparing to ban single-use plastic products and stated that it could take 200 years for a plastic fork to decompose, and they ended up in landfills or polluted the oceans.

Coffey stated that they were determined to take action to solve the problem directly, using the following statements:

“We have already taken important steps in recent years, but we know that there is more to do and we have once again heeded the calls of the people. This new ban will have a huge impact on stopping billions of plastic pieces from polluting the environment and helping to protect the natural environment for future generations.”
