Muğla municipality starts “mobile green grocer” practice, a familiar tradition from the past

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality continues to increase its measures against the Coronavirus outbreak spreading throughout the country. Within this framework, the municipality has started the “mobile green grocer” practice, a very familiar tradition from past years.
Following the announcement of a curfew for citizens over 65 years of age in the country, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality has re-implemented the tradition of mobile greengrocers practiced in the past years, so as to make life easier for those who are not allowed to go shopping due to the curfew.
In MENTESE district, designated as a pilot zone, four supervised greengrocers stop on designated streets, allowing citizens to shop without crowding and also paying attention to required social distance.
While a municipal police team vehicle accompanies the mobile greengrocer vehicle, fruits and vegetables are presented to the citizens in bags prepared in advance within the scope of hygiene.
Citizens have said they are satisfied with the service, adding: “We elderly people can’t get anything because we can’t get out. Thanks to this service, we have fulfilled the Sunday shopping we need. We thank the mayor for his service”.
