ALANYA Beaches Cleaning

The waste that has hit the shore is disposed of by the cleaning team of the municipality of Alanya and the Association of Tourist Operators of Alanya. It is reported that waste transported to the sea by streams, combined with sea bottom pollution and bad weather and sea conditions during the winter have hit the coast.

Cleaning teams from Alanya Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Directorate together with Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTID) have intervened to get rid of the pollution occurring on the beaches. Especially at the point where Oba Creek meets the sea, intense pollution is observed, while in Cleopatra region, solidified pitch waste attracts attention.

A professional from the sector has said: “the Sea returns to us the pollution created by humans. It protects the habitat of many living species.”

He went on to say, “Today, plastic bottles, tree branches formed as a result of pruning, tires, shoes, syringes, food and detergent packaging, agricultural medicine boxes are being collected from the beaches. Waste thrown into streams miles from the sea is being laid in front of us on our beaches today. We live in a city that depends on the tourism economy. We need to raise our sensitivity level. We have to be careful for a more livable Alanya. Please do not hesitate to report the persons and institutions that create pollution to the authorities,” he said.
