Opposition leaders realize another historic meeting to react to judicial blow on IMAMOGLU

Turkey was shaken by the decision of the 2 year 7 month 15 day prison sentence and political ban imposed on Ekrem IMAMOGLU, mayor of Istanbul. The leaders of the six party opposition group, who have met under the roof of democracy, will sign another historic meeting today to react to the judicial coup as described by many political experts. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Chairman Ekrem Imamoglu was sentenced to 2 years, 7 months, 15 days in prison and a political ban for allegedly “insulting the members of Supreme Election Board” yesterday upon this decision considered unfair by experts as well as millions Istanbulites are gathering today at 16.00 in Sarachane.

Today’s meeting will be attended by the leaders of the “six party opposition” group who took this decision after the verdict was announced yesterday, as well as representatives of numerous political parties and democratic mass organizations.
