Orient Express tours to eastern Turkey and ticket prices
Tourism companies in Kars are waiting for the touristic Eastern Express, which will start its tours on December 12, 2022. Ticket prices are reported to be 1,300 Turkish liras per person.
The vast majority of the tickets for touristic Orient Express are sold which clearly shows this service attracts great interest. It is reported that the majority of the tickets, which are one thousand 300 liras per person, have already been sold.
Regarding the issue, president of Kars Tourism Association stated that Kars had gained a significant tourism momentum with the Touristic Orient Express. He said that they aimed to host over 300 thousand tourists in the winter season of 2023.

Expressing that the service of the Eastern Express was continuing, he noted that as tourism professionals, they wanted the touristic Eastern Express tours to start as soon as possible. He also said “Recently, Kars has gained tourism momentum with the Eastern Express in our country. This intensity is increasing each and every year. Therefore, these services were split into two. While the touristic Orient Express offers more tourism-oriented travel, the Orient Express continues its normal tours. The Eastern Express is a train that travels to our city every day, and the Tourist Eastern Express is the train that departs from Ankara 3 days a week in winter and arrives in Kars, the density has doubled this year compared to last year, there is a great tourism excitement in the region.”
“TICKETS ARE ONE THOUSAND 300 LIRAS”
He reminded that the Touristic East Express operates as a total of 6 wagons, and added tickets for 5 wagons were sold through travel agencies and tickets for the sixth wagon was sold through TCDD.
He noted travelers could buy the East Express ticket sales again via the Internet, from the ticket sales sites of TCDD. He said they could also buy tickets for some of the wagons of the touristic Orient Express from their websites and some of them from travel agencies as part of their tour qualifications. The ticket price of the touristic Orient Express is 1,300 liras per person, and the Orient Express is sold at 270 liras.
