The engine of the Boeing 767-306ER model passenger plane suddenly caught fire during takeoff. Passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane while the explosion created a huge panic.

Passengers shared photos and videos of the flames via social media platforms, while the passengers and crew were noted to be in good health.

Some passengers stated that a loud explosion sound had been heard, while they watched from the window that the engine on the right side of the plane belonging to Russia-based Azur Air caught fire.

Local media reported that the maintenance of passenger planes in Russia was not carried out correctly due to the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia, and the plane was preparing to go to Moscow. The airline said, “Our technicians are continuing the investigations. Passengers will be accommodated at the hotel during this time, food and drinks will be served.”
