Passenger record from Sabiha Gökçen Airport for 2022

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (ISG) has set another new record with the number of flights and passengers after the pandemic. On Sunday July 17th, when the summer season and the holiday holiday intensity combined, ISG experienced the busiest day of 2022 with 582 flights and a total of 101,804 passengers. It has broken the record of 2022 in terms of passenger density.

The CEO of the airport, said: “We have set another new record in passenger and flight numbers on the return of the holiday. We are working day and night to provide an excellent airport experience to our guests who prefer the city’s leading airport.

IGS was named the second fastest recovering airport in Europe in terms of its rapid recovery performance during the pandemic, and in just three months in 2022, international passenger rates exceeded the level in 2019 with 6 percent, when we achieved a historic peak in our performance.”

ISG HOSTS 13.7 MILLION PASSENGERS IN FIRST HALF 2022

The recovery in air travel, which accelerated during the summer season, was also reflected in the passenger figures of Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The airport hosted 13.7 million passengers in the first half of 2022.

OSH, which is the busiest single-runway and single-terminal airport in the world with a capacity of 41 million passengers, was named the second fastest recovering airport in Europe in terms of its rapid recovery performance during the pandemic.
