Police sources answer the question “Is there a ban in Turkey, on May 19?”

TURKEY FULL CLOSURECURFEW TO END ON 17 MAY

For days, citizens have been wondering if bans will be extended on May 17-18-19. This question was answered by some police sources.

The full closure which has been in effect fo about 3 weeks, is expected to end as of May 17. The reason is the circular issued by the Ministry of Interior had said “Full closure will start at 19:00 on Thursday April 29 and end at 05.00 on Monday May 17 to be implemented full-time.

On the other hand President Erdoğan (AKP leader as well) said a couple of days ago “Starting on Monday, we are starting to implement our calendar of controlled normalization.”

NO ASSIGNMENT MADE

Public officials said the bans would not be extended, adding they were expected to expire on May 17.

On the other hand some police sources were reported to say they had not been given “additional duties” for May 19 and the bans were expected to expire on the morning of May 17. (as shared on ODA TV)
