President Erdogan: “Increase in salaries of civil servants and retirees is amended as 30 percent”

The rate of increase for civil servants and pensioners was increased. President Erdogan announced that they had increased the civil servant and pension salary increase rate, which was announced as 25 percent earlier, to 30 percent. The lowest pension became 5 thousand 500 liras. Erdogan said that they had also decided to increase the minimum wage support to 400 liras.

Erdogan said that he had instructed the relevant ministers to find formulas that would increase the 25 percent rate higher. He went on to say “At the end of the studies carried out, we have provided opportunities to increase the rate of increase in civil servants and pensions by up to 30 percent by making sacrifices in some other areas. Thus, I am giving the good news that the salary increases of January 2023 will be applied as 30 percent to our civil servants and all pensioners from here.”
THE LOWEST PENSION INCREASED TO 5 THOUSAND 500 TL
“We are increasing the lowest pension amount from 3 thousand 500 liras to 5 thousand 500 liras,” President Erdogan said, stressing that these were increases for the first six months of the year, and new increases would be made for the second half of the year, taking into account the collective agreement and the difference in inflation.
