ERDOGAN CABINET OVERHAUL

Many opinion leaders in politics comment things have not been working out in the right direction for Turkey’s AK Party, the ruling power for the last 20 years. In fact, this statement is also supported by many poll results obtained by public survey companies (mostly unbiased results).

To parallel this observation, Deniz ZEYREK, a prominent journalist writing for SOZCU newspaper has shared important information in his latest article. Zeyrek has pointed out that AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will undergo an overhaul next fall adding “According to the information I have received from presidential sources, Erdogan will dismiss some ministers whose work he is not satisfied with”

The journalist continued as follows: “As President Tayyip Erdogan must have seen that things are not going well, he is making changes to his cabinet from time to time. After Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak (also his son-in-law) resigned, some other ministers such as Trade Minister Pekcan, family and Labor Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, National Education Minister Ziya Selçuk had to resign (or resigned) as well.”

Zeyrek said Erdogan had mobilized the State Supervisory Board (reporting to him) and went on to share, “Three or four ministries, especially those related to the economy and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in particular will start to be audited soon. These ministries, could face a dismissal even before the audit process is finished.”

Suggesting Erdogan would seek a cabinet overhaul in the autumn, the journalist said; “Erdogan knows that things are not going well and this could be reflected in the 2023 elections as a loss of votes and even power. He obviously seems to be aware he needs to take critical steps to prevent this. Nevertheless, it is not known whether the steps to be taken will prevent the loss of power, but as we enter the autumn, the AK Party and its leader will have to experience quite a challenging period.
