Roxy .. A dance-and-performance club in Istanbul
Roxy Club in Istanbul is a dance-and-performance club on Sıraselviler Caddesi (Taksim) which also includes a gallery, a party space and a Gastrobar.
It has been a popular nightspot since 1994 and the premier live music stage for numerous artists from all parts of the globe for many years now.
One can witness an easy-going, unfussy crowd listening to nu-jazz, rock and latin, with weekend disco-dance nights.
On the other hand Roxy has hosted such names as Brandford Marsalis, Marcus Miller, Ernest Rangling, Red Snapper, Groove Collective, Transglobal Underground, DJ Gilles Peterson and Buggee Wesseltoft etc. as the official club of the International Istanbul Jazz Festival.
The club has a capacity of 750 people standing and is known to have organized the annual Roxy Music Days for the last 15 years, which is a prominent contest that introduces new talents to the Turkish music scene.
