Russia and Ukraine to meet once again today for a ceasefire

Ukrainian and Russian negotiators are preparing for a new round of talks, despite the fact that Russia has attacked a base near the Polish border and clashes have escalated in other parts of Ukraine. It was stated that the meeting would take place today at 10.30 Kiev time. Recent statements have raised hopes that a positive outcome can be achieved from the talks.

As Russian invasion of Ukraine enters 19th day, the two countries will sit at the table for the fourth time for a ceasefire today.

In a report provided by int’l news agencies, Ukrainian officials shared the details of the meeting. The meeting will take place in the form of a video conference, the statement said.  An adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine said the meeting would begin at 10.30 am Kiev time (at 11.30pm Turkey time).

It is worth mentioning that “positive” statements from Russia and Ukraine in recent days have raised hopes for a step towards peace. A member of the Russian delegation noted that significant progress had been made in the talks, while an adviser to the President of Ukraine, said: “Russia has begun to speak constructively. I think we will get some results in a few days.”

ZELENSKIY WANTS TO MEET WITH PUTIN

Officials from both sides signal that a positive outcome can be reached in the negotiations, while the Ukrainian side expresses that Ukrainian side “will not accept Russia’s ultimatums”.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskiy has announced in his latest statement that he wants to meet with Russian l eader Vladimir Putin. “This is a difficult path, but it is necessary” Zelenskiy said, noting that the Ukrainian delegation was doing its best to arrange this meeting.
