Russian Deputy PM says flights from Russia to Ankara and Istanbul will begin on August 1

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova has said flights will resume to Ankara and Istanbul on August 1 and to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman on August 10.

Speaking to Rossiya-24 television, Russian Deputy PM Tatyana Golikova said, “From August 1, the Russian Federation is mutually launching flights with the UK, with London, the capital of England. Two decisions were taken on Turkey at one time. Starting from August 1, flights to Ankara and Istanbul will start. Also, starting from August 10, flights to holiday spots such as Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman will be launched.”

Golikova added following: “We will carefully monitor the situation regarding the outbreak in all countries, cities of Russia, where planes will land so that the resumption of flights does not lead to an increase in the number of cases.”

Golikova stated that foreign citizens who would come to Russia should have had a test 72 hours before the flight to show they were not carrying coronavirus. Golikova noted that Russian citizens coming from abroad will also be able to have tests in the country within 72 hours.
