Turkey starts “‘Tourist Protection and Support Insurance’” covering Covid-19
Under the leadership of the Ministry of culture and Tourism and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), “Tourist Protection and Support Insurance” has been launched by Turkey. The announcement from the TGA informed that Covid-19 guaranteed tourist Protection Support Insurance will be available for a more pleasant and safe holiday in Turkey, which is one of the centers of tourism with its history, nature and culture.
The announcement about the insurance system including Covid-19 is as follows:

CONTENTS OF INSURANCE : The insurance is a type of policy that pays the costs of treatment for people treated at the hospital for the exact diagnosis of Covid-19 disease during their hospitalization. In the event of a person’s hospitalization in one of the contracted institutions, payment will be made by GÜNEŞ SİGORTA insurance provision system, and payment will be made by hand / in person in the non-contracted institutions. It was also stressed that the scope of the assurance would be determined by the guarantees in the policy.
The duration of the policy can be up to a maximum of 30 days depending on the insured’s travel time. If the insured is in intensive care before the end of the policy, even if the policy is finished, the treatment will continue for 10 days. The Covid-19 tourist protection and support insurance does not have a waiting period and anyone between the ages of 0-65 will be eligible.
