Salman Rushdie, author of “The Satanic Verses” attacked

Writer Salman Rushdie was attacked in the US State of New York. Rushdi had been living in the shadow of threats for years for his book The Satanic Verses.

The writer Salman Rushdie, who was given a death fatwa and threatened in 1989 because of his book The Satanic Verses, was attacked in New York State.

The author of the book named Verses of Satan had been threatened with death for years because it allegedly contains an insult to religion. He had to live in hiding for a long time. He was a speaker at an event at the Chautauqua Institute when the attack took place. Witnesses said a person came up to the scene and stabbed him many times.

There was no clear information about the health status of Salman Rushdie. However it is said he is badly injured and could probably lose his life.

THE ATTACKER IS IN CUSTODY

After the attack, the person who injured Rushdi was taken into custody. The attacker’s name could not be learned.
