Scientists say Covid-19 vaccine of Sinovac shows promising results against Omicron variant

A study of the Omicron variant, the most mutated type of corona virus, has revealed some remarkable results related to the corona virus vaccine developed by Sinovac which is also used in Turkey. Scientists who shared the early results of the study conducted at the Pontifical Catholic University with the public announced that the third dose of the vaccine developed by Sinovac, also known as the “Chinese vaccine” in Turkey, was effective against the Omicron variant.

A study conducted in Chile has revealed the effect of the Chinese-based biotechnology company Sinovac against the Omicron variant. Scientists have noted that the third dose of Sinovac, given to those who have had two doses of the vaccine, activates cellular immunity to the Omicron variant.

The third dose of Sinovac increases immunity to the Omicron variant of the vaccine, said Professor Dr. Alexis Kalergis, who led the research led by the Millenium Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy. The third dose of the vaccine increases the level of T-cells against the Omicron variant,” he said. He went on to say, “This research shows us that the vaccine contains antigens found in the Omicron variant.

These results have shown us that T lymphocytes increase gamma interferons (a structure that strengthens the immune system) that will kill dangerous viruses when they encounter the Omicron variant.”
