Second wave nightmare in Europe: Governments to introduce bans in succession

Reports that the virus is increasing its effect in Europe again are being shared nowadays. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced in a speech in Parliament yesterday that a new three-stage system of restrictions would be implemented to prevent the Covid-19 outbreak.

Due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, many European countries have started to implement restrictions again. Saying that new restrictions would also be applied in the UK due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases, British Prime Minister Johnson announced in the House of Commons a plan he had prepared to combat the outbreak. Johnson said the number of cases had quadrupled in the UK in the past three weeks, with the number of hospitalizations now higher compared to March 23.

A second national isolation would not be the “right path” Johnson said, explaining that the new restrictions would be implemented as a three-stage system. Johnson noted that Covid-19 was not just a virus that affects the elderly, adding, “There are a lot of young people for whom Covid-19 continues to be a deadly danger. We have to take action to save lives.”

Prime Minister Johnson, who indicated he did not want to impose full restrictions across the country, announced that the gradual restrictions would apply from Wednesday.

Johnson said those levels would have “medium,” “high” and “very high” warning levels for the UK, adding that the medium would “cover a significant part of the UK.” He noted that groups of more than 6 people would be prohibited from meeting in closed areas in areas implemented by local restrictions in the first level, which he called the middle level, and a curfew would be imposed after 22: 00 local time.

The PM said that in the second-stage restrictions, which were high, people would be prevented from socializing indoors with different households, while in areas with a “very high” warning level, people would be prohibited from socializing with other households both indoors and in private gardens.

Prime Minister Johnson announced that bars and restaurants would be closed in areas with very high alert levels. Under the Plan, all pubs, pubs and betting shops in Liverpool would be closed for the first time on Wednesday.
