Breaking news… Sinan Ogan, the presidential candidate of the ATA Alliance (now dissolved) which has been finalized to be dissolved, has made a statement about the attitude he will take in the second round. Ogan officially announced his support for President Erdogan of the AKP, the candidate of the People’s Alliance in the election on May 28.

The attitude that the ATA Alliance will take in the second round of the presidential elections was a matter of curiosity for days. Sinan Ogan, the presidential candidate of the ATA Alliance, had announced that he would make a statement about his position in the second round by pointing out the 17.00 hour of May 22.

At 17.00 hours Ogan began his eagerly awaited explanation.

Ogan officially announced his support for President Erdogan of the AKP, the candidate of the People’s Alliance for the second round of elections to be held on May 28, for several reasons. Leader of ruling bloc was thought to have convinced Ogan to support the ruling bloc on May 28. He apparently seems to have succeeded.

On the other hand however, Umit OZDAG the leader of ZAFER Party made a statement right after the press meeting and announced Ogan’s decision was only his own political choice – and not the choice of the ATA Alliance (and Zafer Party). OZDAG said “This statement does not represent or does not bind the ZAFER Party. The announcement on behalf of the Victory Party will be made by me at 11.00 tomorrow.”

The conclusion is, Ogan will not be able to carry 5 percent share of the total votes used for ATA Alliance on May 14, to Public Alliance headed by current president (ruling bloc) in election on May 28. Experts, opinion leaders comment that the maximum share he “might” be able to carry to ruling bloc would not exceed 1 percent.
