Some unique features about TOGG, first Turkish made electric car
TOGG’s facility in Gemlik was officially established in 2018 with the aim of producing Turkey’s automobile and is due to be opened with the participation of President Erdogan on October 29, Republic Day. With the opening, TOGG’s C-SUV model, which has been produced in the prototype workshop with various road tests carried out so far, will be fully ready for mass production.

BATTERIES WILL BE PRODUCED NEXT TO THE FACTORY
TOGG, which will ONLY produce electric cars, has collaborated with Farasis, one of the world’s leading manufacturers, to produce the battery module and package in Turkey. The battery cell and module production facility, which will be put into operation by Siro, which was established in partnership with the two companies, will provide employment for approximately 2 thousand 200 people in Gemlik district. The construction of the factory is currently underway and is scheduled for completion in 2023. On the other hand, TOGG’s partner in battery production, Farasis, attracts attention as the eighth largest battery manufacturer in China. This company also supplies batteries to world giants such as Geely, Mercedes-Benz.
600 OF 1000 CHARGING STATIONS WILL BE HOSTED BY SHELL
Taking a step for the shortage of charging stations, which is the biggest problem of electric vehicles, TOGG will install 1,000 charging stations in 81 provinces of Turkey with the Trugo brand. In this context, TOGG, which has also entered into a cooperation with Shell, will install more than 600 chargers at 400 Shell stations. Chargers will be installed every 25 kilometers on high-traffic routes and every 50 kilometers in areas where traffic density is low. With high-speed chargers, the battery occupancy rate will be able to reach from 20 percent to 80 percent in an average of 25 minutes.
HOW MUCH WILL THE C-SUV COST?
The first electric model C-SUV, which will go on sale in March 2023, will probably be available in two different versions, 300 km and 500 km. It is estimated that the 300 km version, the price of which is more affordable, will go on sale with a price of about 900 thousand TL with the introduction of a 10 percent excise duty tranche. On the other hand, it is worth recalling that this figure was calculated in today’s conditions and the TOGG C-SUV will go on sale in the first quarter of 2023.
IN 2023, 18 THOUSAND PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE
TOGG’s production will increase gradually. In this context, it is planned to produce and sell 17 to 18 thousand C-SUVs in 2023, when they will be available for sale. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who pointed out that the trial production of TOGG continued, said, “The company’s goal for 2023 is to produce 17-18 thousand vehicles and put them on the market” on the subject.
