A Professor from a Faculty of Medicine Department of Public Health has said that sudden weather changes increase upper respiratory tract infections.

The Prof. told media that there has been an increase in the number of people admitted to health institutions in recent days, due to upper respiratory tract infections.

Stating that the transmission had increased, he said, “We are experiencing very sudden weather changes. The change in the weather facilitates the transmission of microorganisms, that is, microbes, especially viruses, to humans.”

The Professor reminded that upper respiratory tract infections had become less common in the last two years due to Covid-19 measures.
